ProgPower USA is America’s premiere prog/power metal music fest, featuring the greatest bands of this genre culled literally from around the world. Event organizer Glenn Harveston runs a top-notch weekend-long musical extravaganza, with a crew that’s second to none. The venue is perfect. The fans are great. And the bands are spectacular.
If you want to experience bands you wouldn’t normally get to see (or sometimes even hear) in the States, ProgPower USA is for you. This year’s ProgPower (the eighth in what one hopes is a never-ending series) kicks off on Thursday night, October 4, in a pre-weekend Showcase of amazing talent. Tickets to Showcase are on sale separately. ProgPower’s Main Stage opens Friday night, October 5, and continues through the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, October 7. Tickets for the Main Stage even are sold out. Tickets for Showcase are still available, but going very quickly at Ticketmaster.

Oh, and if you’re having a hard time finding CDs from the bands appearing at this year’s PPUSA, let your mouse do the walking over to LaserCD. If Ken Golden doesn’t have what you’re looking for (and then some!), better check to see if hell has frozen over.
